In his speech to the members of the Regiment, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his honor and pride for the visit and added that there is no better way to start the new year.
Prime minister Kurti stressed that the establishment of the army is a common task and that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo takes with great dedication the modernization of the Army both with equipment and weapons, as well as conditions of service, as well as providing opportunities where soldiers can show their skills.
He further said that infantry, as the oldest branch of the army, proves that technology and military equipment, however sophisticated and precise, cannot replace the momentum and power of God's fighter.
"In the year we left behind, KSF showed high professionalism, commitment to the service of peace and security, not only within its borders, but also abroad, as well as, not only for its citizens, but also all those in need,” said Prime Minister Kurti.
During his speech, he highlighted as one of the highest successes of 2021, the participation in “Defender Europe ‘21”, where readiness, professionalism and interaction with NATO and United States militaries were shown.
"Participation in the international exercise and the successful validation of your company is a testament to the achievements, which make us all proud every day”, said Prime Minister Kurti. He expressed the conviction that the next challenge, “Defender Europe ‘23”, will find them even better, even more prepared.
On the same day, on the occasion of the 38th anniversary of the fall of martyrs Rexhep Mala and Nuhi Berisha, Minister Mehaj, accompanied by Deputy Minister Syla and senior staff of the Ministry of Defense, visited their families in Gjilan.
They also paid homage to the cemetery of the martyrs of the municipality of Gjilan.
