In this meeting, the security situation in the country and the region, the cooperation with the KFOR and NATO missions were discussed, in which case Minister Mehaj emphasized the destabilizing policies that the Serbian side is pursuing through the distribution of false information. cooperation with the Russian Federation and the continuous pressure they exert on the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and the members of the KSF of the Serbian community, who live in the northern part of the country.
Likewise, Minister Mehaj emphasized once again that the positions of the Republic of Kosovo are clear, as always in favor of European policies, the creation of a safe environment for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, regardless of ethnicity.
Also, Minister Mehaj informed Mr. Escobar about the advancements of the KSF, such as: the implementation of the first phase of the Comprehensive Transition Plan, drawn up jointly with ISG (Institute for Security Governance) and the fact that we are currently in the second phase of the implementation of this plan, the cooperation with KFOR in monitoring the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo, the support offered to our allies, the NATO member states, in the mission for the evacuation of Afghan refugees, as well as the transportation of aid to the people Ukrainian.
"Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Serbian side, who continue not to impose sanctions on the Russian Federation, although they are seeing every day, like the whole world, Russian aggression and crime against the Ukrainian people, thus proving once again at least their inability to detach themselves from Russian policies, if not the fact that the past of the Western Balkans has not served for them to learn a lesson, to understand that the new order in the Balkans is unchangeable, therefore the establishment of 48 military bases near the border of the Republic of Kosovo will not change this fact, except for the open manifestation of a political class of an old mindset with views far from the democratic values of the European Union, and even further from the goal of NATO", said Minister Mehaj on this occasion adding that the journey of the Republic of Kosovo has a final destination, membership in the EU and NATO, where we are geographically located, and in principle we share common values, a mission to guarantee the maintenance of peace in the country, region and beyond.
