As part of official meetings in the United States of America, the acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, was hosted at the US Department of War by Assistant Secretary of War, Daniel Zimmerman.
During the meeting with Secretary Zimmerman and the staff of the Department of War of the United States of America, important discussions were held regarding the overall security situation, the deepening and expansion of cooperation in the field of defense, the further development of the capacities of the Kosovo Security Force, as well as joint engagements for international peace, security, and stability.
Secretary Zimmerman highly appreciated the increase in investments by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in defense, the vision for the development of the defense industry, as well as the progress that Kosovo has achieved in strengthening its military capacities. Likewise, he appreciated the institutional decisions of the Republic of Kosovo regarding the engagement of members of the Kosovo Security Force together with American forces in peace support operations, as well as the continued support for Ukraine.
During the meeting, discussions were also held regarding joint strategic projects aimed at deepening the partnership with the United States of America and supporting Kosovo’s membership in NATO. The partnership with the United States remains the cornerstone of Kosovo’s security and a guarantee for building a modern, professional, and mission-ready army.
