During these two days, the Minister held a meeting with the chief of Defense of the Belgian Armed Forces, General Frederik Vansina, during which cooperation in the field of defense and opportunities for deepening the partnership between the two countries were discussed.
In meetings with representatives of the defense industry, discussions focused on the possibilities of supplying the Kosovo Security Force with modern military system and equipment, as well as on the potential for cooperation in developing the defense industry in Kosovo.
Minister Maqedonci emphasized that the Ministry of Defense remains committed to accelerating the modernization of defense capacities through strategic investments. In this context, he underlined that over the next four years, investments exceeding 1 billion euros are planned for the developments of the Kosovo Army, including the advancement of combat capabilities, the construction of new defense infrastructure, and the development of the domestic defense industry.
In a new security environment in Europe, the Republic of Kosovo aims to contribute to the strengthening of its national defense, as well as to regional and Euro-Atlantic security, by deepening cooperation with international partners and allies.
International fairs such as BEDEX 2026 represents important platforms for building long-term partnership, securing access to the most advanced technologies, and strengthening the capacities of the Kosovo Army in service of safer future for the country and the region.
