In the hosting delegation was also the Commander of the KSF, Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, together with senior officials of the Ministry of Defense.
The meeting between the two ministers was held in a cordial spirit following the official agenda, while afterwards a press conference was held. Subsequently, the bilateral meeting between the delegations was also conducted.
At the press conference, organized on the occasion of this visit, Minister Maqedonci expressed gratitude and thanked his counterpart for the commitment of the Republic of Albania, especially in the development of military capacities.
“The Republic of Albania continues to contribute to the strengthening of the KSF through training and education undertaken by our members in Albania, through the close cooperation between the two countries and through the presence within the framework of the KFOR mission, where the Republic of Albania plays special role. During the meeting, we discussed the deepening of cooperation also in other fields including the defense industry, an important and necessary sector for the times we are living in. Therefore, we will work more extensively to further identify this field. I am grateful for the readiness in supporting Kosovo on its path toward integration into NATO, in the promotion of Kosovo within NATO, but in particular as a Minister in the regional cooperation that we have with Albania and Croatia in this aspect.” – stated Minister Maqedonci.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Defense of Albania, Ermal Nufi, thanked Minister Maqedonci for the warm reception and among other things emphasized that the Republic of Albania stands side by side with Kosovo and in its journey from the very beginning. He emphasized that cooperation in the defense industry is essential for the increase of capacities and the guarantee of the security of both countries and that the deepening of cooperation, particularly in the defense industry, is in the interest of both parties.
Both Ministers of Defense emphasized that cooperation in the field of defense and security between the two countries with be further deepened, seeing this advancement towards the future.
