Also participating in the meeting were the Deputy Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), Major General Enver Cikaqi, as well as senior officials and military officers from the Ministry of Defense and the Kosovo Security Force.
During the meeting, the strategic partnership between the Republic of Kosovo and the United Kingdom was reaffirmed, and the cooperation achieved thus far in the field of defense and security was commended. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of the professional capacities of the KSF through military training and education, as well as on strengthening coordination on security issues.
Deputy Minister Lleshi emphasized the importance of the United Kingdom’s continuous support in increasing the efficiency and capacities of the KSF, as well as in advancing Kosovo’s position within the Euro-Atlantic security architecture.
During the discussions, issues of mutual interest were also addressed, including support for Ukraine, the role of KFOR, and opportunities for deepening operational cooperation between the defense institutions.
Furthermore, the commitment of the Republic of Kosovo to NATO membership was reaffirmed, as well as the readiness to contribute to peacekeeping operations in close cooperation with international partners.
Both parties agreed to continue coordination and to identify concrete steps toward the further deepening of the bilateral partnership between the Republic of Kosovo and the United Kingdom, in the interest of peace, stability, and shared security.
