COMMANDER OF THE KOSOVO SECURITY FORCE
LIEUTENANT GENERAL
He is the fourth commander of the Kosovo Security Force, the highest-ranking officer in the Republic of Kosovo and the chief military adviser to the President, Prime Minister and the Kosovo Security Council.
Bashkim JASHARI was born on November 15, 1977 in Lower Prekaz of Skenderaj. General JASHARI was always by the side of the National Heroes Hamza and Adem JASHARI, and many other fighters, who aimed to liberate the people of Kosovo from the violence and terror that was being done by the Serbian government. General JASHARI is one of the two survivors of his family, who fought to the end by breaking the three – day siege made to the JASHARI family by the Serbian police-military and paramilitary forces. After the heroic resistance of the JASHARI family, which became a symbol of Kosovo's freedom and independence, a fierce war broke out in Kosovo, but general JASHARI never withdrew, he continued his family's journey, inspiring many boys and girls to join the Kosovo Liberation Army in the fight for freedom. During his time as an active and inseparable part of the Kosovo Liberation Army, he served as Deputy Commander of the Drenica operational area.
General JASHARI continued his military career by serving in the Kosovo Protection Corps, which was the successor organization of the Kosovo Liberation Army. Initially, in 1999 he was appointed Deputy Commander of the first defense zone, while in June 2001 he was appointed Commander of this zone. His reputation as a distinguished and highly respected military man for his contributions during the war was a key, and very important factor that helped him to work and be committed towards the creation of a modern and professional army.
With the establishment of the Kosovo Security Force in 2009, general JASHARI became part of the Ministry of the Kosovo Security Force and was appointed Inspector General of KSF. He had a very important role during the transition process of KSF, where he ensured that the staff of the ministry and KSF conducted these processes Strictly and always in accordance with the laws and regulations in force.
General JASHARI in March 2018 was promoted to Major General, and after the transformation of the ministry was renamed inspector general. In November 2021, general JASHARI is appointed Commander of the Kosovo Security Force.
Military studies of the command and General Staff and security and defense studies were conducted at the Defense Academy” Spiro Moisiu " in Albania. During his military studies he published a scientific paper on the topic”the formation of the KLA, the creation of the state as a result of war". While he completed his civil studies at the Faculty of Law at the University of Prishtina.
General Jashari is married, father of four children, a daughter and three sons.
