
Gafurr Dugolli,
Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense,
Academic career
Gafurr Dugolli was born on June 11, 1975, in the village of Nekoc in Drenas.
He completed his primary education in his hometown, while he completed his high school in the mathematical and natural sciences department in Drenas. He completed his bachelor’s studies at the Faculty of Philosophy – Department of History and his master’s studies in the field of European Integration and Public Administration – Department of Political Science at the Public University “Hasan Prishtina” in Prishtina.
Military, professional and institutional career
In early 1998, as a student at the Faculty of Philology – Department of English Language and Literature, he interrupted his studies and engaged in the liberation war within the framework of the Kosovo Liberation Army, until the end of the war. After the liberation of the country, he continued to serve as a military superior in the Kosovo Protection Corps (KPK), in various duties with staff and command responsibilities in the First KPC Defense Zone and the KPC Headquarters until 2007.
He then worked in the private sector, as deputy director of a construction company.
In 2011, he began working at the Ministry of the KSF (now the Ministry of Defense) in the position of Head of the Protocol Unit, a duty he successfully performed until 2021, to move to the position of Head of the Euro-Atlantic Integration Sector in the Ministry of Defense.
Since October 2023, he has served as Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense, until September 11, 2024, when he was officially appointed Secretary General, with a full mandate by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
During his 25-year engagement in the KPC, MKSF and now in the MoD, Mr. Dugolli has successfully completed a considerable number of courses and trainings in various NATO schools and centers and friendly countries, such as the USA, Germany, Turkey, etc.
Family and passions
He is a native speaker of English and Serbian. He lives in Pristina with his family, his mother Fetije, his wife Besa and his daughter Alketa, a student at the Faculty of Medicine.
His special passions and hobbies are hiking, football and chess.
