He is the fourth Commander of the Kosovo Security Force, the highest-ranking officer in the Republic of Kosovo and the chief military advisor to the President, Prime Minister and Kosovo Security Council.

Bashkim JASHARI was born on November 15, 1977 in Prekaz i Poshtëm, Skenderaj. General JASHARI was always by the side of national heroes Hamëz and Adem JASHARI, and many other fighters, who aimed to liberate the people of Kosovo from the violence and terror being inflicted on them by the Serbian government. General JASHARI is one of the two survivors of his family, who fought until the end, breaking the three-day siege that was placed on the JASHARI family by Serbian police-military and paramilitary forces. After the heroic resistance of the JASHARI family, which became a symbol of the freedom and independence of Kosovo, a fierce war broke out in Kosovo, but General JASHARI never retreated, he continued his family’s journey, inspiring many boys and girls to join the Kosovo Liberation Army in the fight for freedom. During the time he was an active and inseparable part of the Kosovo Liberation Army, he served as Deputy Commander of the Drenica Operational Zone.

General JASHARI continued his military career by serving in the Kosovo Protection Corps, which was the successor organization of the Kosovo Liberation Army. Initially, in 1999 he was appointed Deputy Commander of the First Protection Zone, while in June 2001 he was appointed Commander of this zone. The reputation as a distinguished and highly respected military man for his contribution during the war was a key and very important factor that helped him work and be dedicated towards the creation of a modern and professional army.
With the establishment of the Kosovo Security Force in 2009, General JASHARI became part of the Ministry of the Kosovo Security Force by being appointed Inspector General of the KSF. He had a very important role during the KSF transition process, ensuring that the staff of the Ministry and the KSF carried out these processes meticulously and always in accordance with the laws and regulations in force.
General JASHARI was promoted to Major General in March 2018, and after the transformation of the Ministry he was re-appointed Inspector General. In November 2021, General JASHARI was appointed Commander of the Kosovo Security Force.

He completed his military studies of the Command and General Staff and Security and Defense Studies at the “Spiro Moisiu” Defense Academy in Albania. During his military studies, he published a scientific paper on the topic “The Formation of the KLA, the Creation of the State as a Result of the War”. While he completed his civilian studies at the Faculty of Law at the University of Pristina.
General Jashari is married, father of four children, one daughter and three sons.
