The minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Svecla, was also present at the meeting. In this meeting was discussed about the potential of future technical-military cooperation between the Republic Of Kosovo and the Republic of Croatia. The interlocutors also reiterated the importance of the strategic dialogue between the two countries in the context of the common interest for the stability of Southeast Europe. Among other things, minister Mehaj and Croatian Minister Banozic agreed on the realization of the agreement in the field of military purchases”State by state”, on the possibility of participation in joint peacekeeping operations, as well as on the new Memorandum of Understanding between the two ministries of defense, which is expected to be signed soon in Pristina. During this meeting, Minister Mehaj highly appreciated the role and great contribution of the Croatian contingent within KFOR. Also, Minister Mehaj and Minister of internal affairs, Xhelal Svecla informed Minister Banozic on the current political and security situation in Kosovo, especially on the recent events in the north of Kosovo. Regarding multilateral cooperation and considering that the Republic of Croatia is leading the regional initiative, the US-Adriatic Charter (A5) as well as the defence cooperation of Central Europe this year, Minister Mehaj received the invitation from Minister Banozic to participate in the upcoming meetings at the level of Defence Ministers of both initiatives. "The Republic of Croatia is a strong regional partner with whom we will travel together in the safe development perspective in the field of security and defense”, stressed on this occasion Minister Armend Mehaj.
