Parliamentary Committees for Security and Defense Affairs as well as for Budget and Transfers visited the KSF General Staff

Today, the KSF Commander, Lieutenant General Rrahman Rama and his staff, hosted in the KSF General Staff, the MP’s, respectively the members of parliamentary committees, the Security and Defense Committee and the committee for the Budget of Transfers. Initially, General Rama expressed his gratitude for this visit and briefed the deputies about the up-to-date KFS overall achievements, challenges and its objectives about the future. Furthermore, the KSF General Staff officers briefed the participants about the defense and security aspect of the country, the planning process for the following year, mid-term and long-term of building the full operational capabilities, KSF capacities and the budget framework required for the implementation of the relevant plans.Among others things, General Rrahman emphasized that despite the crises caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and its focus on fighting it, KSF has successfully managed to conduct most of the planned activities, in order to fulfill the Ministry of Defense Objectives. “Since we are in the second year of the KSF transition processes in the mission of the military force, our objectives are focused on fulfilling the activities in accordance with the Comprehensive Transition Plan, respectively in terms of achieving full operational capabilities and capacities by 2028, these capacities are essential to fulfill the constitutional and legal mission,” he added. In the end, Generl Rama requested the members of the two communities for their support in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, particularly in approving the KSF budget requirements planned for 2021. After the General Rama speech, the members of the respective committees led by Fatmire Kollçaku-Mulhaxha and Hekuran Murati, highly appreciated the so far KSF achievements, their discussions and questions stated their interest concerning to the capital procurement status and KSF infrastructure projects, as well as the members’ condition related to COVID-19 pandemic circumstances, the process of members integration from non-majority communities and the challenges of this process.
They pledged that, despite the budgetary difficulties caused by pandemic crisis, their authority will support the KSF budget requirements for the implementation of planned projects. The accompanying staff of General Rama, consisting of Major General Enver Cikaqi, Brigadier General Jeton Dreshaj, Colonel Agron Bajrami, Colonel Ejup Makedonci, Lieutenant Colonel Berat Shala, Major Korab Dauti, Captain Manushaqe Nura and US Legal Advisor, with their professional commitment and responses contributed to the organization as well as all the questions and issues raised by the members of the relevant commissions. KSF through similar meetings, but also reporting meetings continues to fully fulfill the legal obligation in the function of transparency and full accountability to the representatives of the Republic of Kosovo Assembly as the constitutional body of the democratic parliamentary control.
